Do I Like Documentaries? (Yes, duh)

Image
I want to talk about documentaries (yeah, I know that sounds like homework at first lol), but honestly, they’re one of the best things ever. Like, i'm sitting there watching real people, real events, real stories. they are just as entertaining as a movie. The first documentary I ever watched seriously (not counting random school ones where the narrator sounds like they’ve been asleep for 200 years) was about animals, and I remember just staring at the screen like: wow. I didn’t even know penguins were out there doing all that just to survive. It’s crazy how a documentary can take something you’d normally never think about and suddenly make you obsessed. And the crazy part is, they're like portals. You start watching one thing, and next thing you know, you’re deep into a world you never even thought about. History, music, space, weird subcultures!...you name it. By the end, you’re walking around thinking you know everything (“did you know octopuses have three hearts??” lol). D...

Google Earth

Image
I want to talk about the first time I used Google Earth (got this from a topic generator website lol), because honestly it didn’t even feel like an app. Google Earth feels like something you shouldn't have acces to honestly lol.  I remember just sitting there in mah room zooming in on my OWN street, and being completely stunned. I mean, how is it possible that I can see my house from space? !!! It was so weird and surreal, and for a minute I thought maybe the government was going to pop up on my screen and tell me to log off. like "hey what are you doing here?!!" hehe But then! it turned into an adventure . I started spinning the digital globe(i do this to real ones as well) and clicking on the most random places I could think of. At one point I zoomed into Burkina Faso just to stare at the roads and houses and imagine what life there might be like. Then I went over to Tunisia to scroll  through the streets.  Google Earth was addictive. I’d spend hours just jumping fro...

Horseback Riding

Horseback Riding. Today I went horseback riding with my mother and my little sister and my mother's friend. I wasn't scared, unlike my mother and sister. Plus, I quickly understood how to control the horse.  Anyway here's how it went: When we got to the farm, the first thing I noticed wasn’t the horses. it was the dogs. There were a lot of them just walking around like they owned the place. One of them kept following people and sniffing around the horses like it had a job to do. They were actually super friendly. I pet one while we were waiting, and honestly, I liked them more than the horses at first. The horses weren’t saddled yet. A man came over and saddled mine for me while I stood there. My horse was brown, calm, and didn’t make a big deal out of anything. I didn’t know his name until after the ride. it was Sage . Kind of a quiet name for a quiet horse. Before we even went, I had already watched a video on how to control a horse, so I had a general idea of what to do...
